Lot Description

A pair of mid-Victorian silver fish servers, in Old English Bead pattern with initialled terminals and foliate pierced decoration to the blade of the slice and heel of the fork. Hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams), London 1864. Length of slice measures 12 3/8 inches (31.5 cm), weight 9.83 ozt (305.9 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Total lot weight: No

The servers appear in fair to good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier wear visible around edges and especially to the rounded tip of the slice and the tips of the fork tines. One of the tips is bent backwards slightly.  Some of the beading is a little flattened. Some heavier scratches and marks are visible. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but still clearly legible.
