Lot Description

A George III silver basting spoon, in Fiddle pattern with initialled terminal, hallmarked James Beebe, London 1815, and a George III silver dessert spoon in Old English Bead pattern, hallmarked London 1789 or 1809, maker's mark distorted. Together with various other Victorian and later spoons to include five Fiddle pattern table spoons with hallmarks for London 1854, 1863 and 1871, a set of four Fiddle pattern teaspoons, hallmarked London 1852, a further Victorian condiment spoon, also in Fiddle pattern, a late Victorian cased set and a 1940's cased set of tea or coffee spoons, a further 1940's silver spoon and a pair of 1920's silver sugar nips. Weight 24.33 ozt (756.4 grams).

In varied condition, some pieces being in a more worn and used state but all displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Heavier scratches and marks are visible. Dints and bumps to some of the bowls and heavier wear to edges and tips. Some bowl edges appear slightly ground down. Some rubbing and distortion to maker's marks and hallmarks but they are mainly legible.
