A Victorian silver King's Pattern silver basting spoon. Hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams), London 1841. Length measuring 11 1/2 inches (29.5 cm), weight 5.6 ozt (176 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavily over-polished with significant loss of raised surfaces and details, particularly to the terminal, therefore likely to also have had a crest or engraving removed. Hallmarks a little rubbed but legible.
