Lot Description

A George III silver travelling apple corer, the octagonal sided and tapering handle unscrewing to reveal the blade.
Hallmarked Joseph Willmore, Birmingham 1805 (Assay Office mark is illegible but presumed Birmingham).
Overall length measures 11 cm, gross weight 18.6 grams.

The apple corer displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Several small dints to the handle and a larger one to the top of the handle.  The blade section appears in good condition.  The corer screws and unscrews together well.  The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible, apart from the Assay Office mark.
