Lot Description

A 1950's silver compact case of square form, engine turned decoration throughout with rose gold coloured border, embossed thumb pieces and opening to a gilded interior. Hallmarked W H Manton Ltd., Birmingham 1957. Measuring 3 1/8 inches (7.8 cm) square, weight 3.94 ozt (122.6 grams).

Condition Report

The compact is in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear including surface scratches, marks and light tarnishing. Some little edge nicks, also heavier contact marks to some areas. Hinges appear in good working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
