Lot Description

A Victorian silver-gilt mounted ruby glass scent bottle of facetted form, to one end a detachable screw lid and to the other end a hinged domed lid with press release, both with engraved monograms. The hinged mount only hallmarked John Harris, London 1863. Length measuring 5 1/4 inches (13 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Significant wear to plating. Diller also marked to one inside lid. No hallmarks to the screw-off lid, a dent also to this lid. Chip to shoulder facet alongside minor nibbles and abrasions. Chip also to the glass thread hole. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
