Lot Description
A continental table snuff box of engraved oblong form, the hinged lid set with a Polish medallion depicting draped female figures of Peace and Justice holding one another, the reverse to the gilt interior depicting further female figures of Fides and Aequitas hand in hand, below the sun. Possible German marks to the rim. Length measuring 4 1/4 inches (10.7 cm), weight 5.2 ozt (163 grams).

Fair to poor overall condition. Heavily worn with loss of definition and detail. Possible continental marks of large scrolling 'B' and 'A'. Soft solder around the setting of the medallion visible to the interior.
