Lot Description

A 1920's silver hot water pot of plain baluster form with moulded girdle detail above a footed base, with pierced scroll thumb piece, further scroll terminal to the wood handle and a domed, hinged lid with conforming wood finial. Hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Birmingham 1923. Maximum height measures 9 inches (23 cm), gross weight 18.7 ozt (581.6 grams).

The pot appears in good overall condition, displaying general light wear including surface scratches, contact marks and tarnishing. The wood finial to the lid is loose. The maker's mark and part of the hallmark are rubbed but still legible. Also part hallmarks to the lid and impressed maker's mark to the underside, all clearly legible.
