Lot Description

A late Victorian silver hip flask, of plain rounded rectangular form with slightly curved back and hinged domed lid with locking mechanism. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1896. Weight 5.38 ozt (167.3 grams), height inclusive of lid 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).

Overall good condition although crude solder repair to neck. Hallmarks clear and legible and with part hallmark to lid. Hinge in good working order although appears to not close tight. Displays tarnishing and wear particularly to lid. Silver to front of thin gage and probably had an engraving removed.
