A Victorian silver snuff box, the oblong form with scalloped edge, scroll engraved and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham 1852. Length measuring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm), weight 2.6 ozt (81 grams).

Condition Report

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Significant wear and loss of definition and detail to the decoration and edges. No personal engraving, possibly removed. Gilding to the interior appears bright. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
