Lot Description
An early 19th century gold and split pearl mourning ring. The woven hair panel, within a split pearl surround, to the later foliate shoulders and ridged band. Personal engraving reads 'C Bowman 21 October 1811'. One split pearl deficient. Weight 3.2gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. There are scratches to the ring in keeping with the age of the piece. There are areas of abrasion to the glass cover panel of the hair. The split pearls vary in shade, some more grey than others, one split pearl is deficient. There are areas of damage to some split pearls. There is an areas of sizing to the inside of the band. There is some evidence of solder repair to the shoulders, the band replaced at a later date, the band appears to be possibly late 19th century. The centre was possibly originally a clasp with the band added at a later date. Ring size L.
