Lot Description

A Victorian small bachelor teapot of drum form with engraved crest and fruitwood handle and finial. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1868. Height measuring 3 1/4 inches (8 cm), weight 5.7 ozt (178 grams).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Fruitwood handle with patina and hairline fractures. Manufactures scratched weights to the underside. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The teapot is of a small size even for a bachelor teapot, maximum length measuring 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm).
