Lot Description

A pair of George III silver mounted candlesticks, the circular bases with gadrooned border rising to the cylindrical stems and similarly decorated nozzles with initial engraving. Hallmarked John Roberts & Co., Sheffield 1813. Height measuring 7 1/4 inches (18 cm).

Condition Report

The lot displays general scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. Heavy creasing and denting to the silver. The loading is loose and would benefit from some attention. Felting to the underside is significantly worn. Hallmarks worn but legible, corresponding part hallmarks to the detachable nozzles.
