Lot Description

A 1940's silver cigarette case of rectangular form with canted sides and corners, engine-turned decoration throughout with small vacant name panel to one corner. Hallmarked John Rose, Birmingham 1944. Measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) by 3 1/4 inches (8.3 cm), gross weight 4.42 ozt (137.6 grams).

Condition Report

The cigarette case displays some general wear including surface scratches, marks and light tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hinges appear in good working order. An area of heavier and denser scratches visible to the interior. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
