Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver cigar case, the oblong hinged form with panelled engine-turned decoration opening to the silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Wright & Davies (William Thomas Wright & Frederick Davies), London 1864 and retailed by Hopkins, 22 New Bond Street. Length measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 6.2 ozt (193 grams).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hinge and clasp in good working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
