Lot Description

Knights Templar, The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of the Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta in England and Wales and Provinces Overseas, a selection of regalia for the Provincial Priory of Surrey comprising a mantle, tunic, cap with cap badge, leather belt, sword, sash, black gloves, a silver gilt and enamel jewel for St. George's Preceptory, presented to C.H. Perram in March 1932 (believed to be Charles Herbert Perram, M.D), a further silver and enamel Cross jewel and a silver and enamel badge; the lot also includes a Knights of Malta silver and enamel dress jewel and a book of the Ceremonies. Contained within a fitted leather travelling case.

This collection of Masonic regalia is from the collection of and relates to Richard Bentinck Boyle, 9th Earl of Shannon (1924 - 2013). He was the longest serving Provincial Grand Master of Surrey being head of Surrey's Freemasons for thirty three years from 1967 to 1999.
