Lot Description

A matched pair of late Victorian silver bonbon dishes, the oval bodies with radiating and scroll piercing, scalloped rim and standing on an oval foot. Hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1895 and Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman), London 1897. Length measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), gross weight 3 ozt (96 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Tear to the rim on one. Slightly differing decoration to the feet, but other wise very well matches. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
