Lot Description

A George II silver provincial caster, the vase shape with shell pierced detachable cover and standing on a circular footed base. Hallmarked Isaac Cookson, Newcastle 1741. Height measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 4.5 ozt (143 grams).

Condition Report

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The foot is compressed to one side and the caster appear lopsided. Seam to the body visible. The cover is not hallmarked and also heavily worn with repairs and tears. Cover does not sit flush. Hallmarks to the underside relatively clear and legible.
