Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver salver of shaped circular form with foliate scroll pierced rim enclosing a similarly engraved border with personal presentation inscription to the centre, the whole raised on three scroll pierced feet, hallmarked Sheffield 1858. Together with a selection of plated items to include four pint mugs, a nut dish, a sauce boat, a christening mug, a presentation waiter and a small quantity of flatware. Maximum diameter of silver salver measures 10 1/4 inches (26 cm), weight of salver 16.10 ozt (500 grams).

The salver appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The other items display general wear to the plating and also some tarnishing and further surface marks, scratches and some minor dints.
