Lot Description

A cased set of six late Victorian silver spoons and sugar tongs having apostle terminals and foliate wirework decoration to bowls, hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., 1893. Together with another cased set having banded foliate terminals leading to the twisted stems, Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1896, plus a 1930's set of six enamelled silver coffee spoons, Turner & Simpson Ltd., Birmingham 1932, (S/D). Gross weight 7.02 ozt (218.5 grams). (3).

Both Victorian sets appear in good condition displaying minor wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with age, hallmarks with rubbing but still legible, and cases each in fair condition with light scuffs to exterior. Coffee spoons with damage to enamel on two examples otherwise displaying minor wear, hallmarks clear and legible and case in fair to poor condition with scuffs, marks and wear.
