Lot Description

A mid 19th century gold, enamel and split pearl memorial brooch. The hand painted ivory panel, depicting a lady in period dress attending a headstone, within a blue enamel and star motif surround, to the split pearl border. Length 3.8cms. Weight 10.1gms.

<li> Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. <p>

<li> The ivory panel is cracked. <p>

<li> Some yellow metal star and circular inlay to the blue enamel surround deficient. <p>

<li> Split pearls fairly well matched. <p>

<li> Split pearls with a creamy-white to slightly greyish tone, some rose overtones and fair to fairly good lustre. <p>

<li> Split pearls in good to fairly good in good condition with minor abrasions to most and slightly more significant abrasions to some.<p>
