Lot Description

A George III silver cream jug, of bellied form decorated with flower-heads and foliage framing a vacant cartouche and below a scalloped rim, hallmarked London 1763, height measures 4 inches (10 cm). Together with another example raised upon a pedestal foot, London 1797, plus another of plain bellied form having engraved initials below a ribbed neck, John, Henry & Charles Lias, London 1830. Gross weight 9.01 ozt (280.2 grams). (3).

The lot appears in overall fair condition. The first example with few small dints, knocks and rubbing, the maker's mark possibly T W although hallmarks are rubbed and worn. The pedestal example with tarnishing and crude solder marks visible, hallmarked are rubbed and worn. Third example with tarnishing and rubbing causing slight loss of definition to engraving, hallmarks are rubbed and maker's mark partly illegible.
