Lot Description
A late Victorian silver pen tray, the oblong form with embossed and chased scene to the centre depicting a pair of lovers on a swing within a scrolled landscape surround. Hallmarked Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1900. Length measuring 8 7/8 inches (22.5 cm), weight 2.8 ozt (87.2 grams).

Condition Report
The tray appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some flattening and slight loss of surface detail to areas of the decoration but generally still good. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark a little distorted but still legible.
