Lot Description

A turn of the century silver plated oil lamp converted to electricity with tapered scalloped pink shade with fringe, the acanthus leaf moulded capital above a tapered Corinthian column, upon a stepped plinth base with personal inscription, the cut-glass reservoir surmounted by a converted fixture, signed Fattorini & Sons, Bradford. Maximum height including shade measures 91cm (36 inches).

'Presented to Mr Councillor C. H. Haley. By Members and Friends of the Congregational Church, Pudsey. As a Token of Esteem on the occasion of His Marriage. Sept, 14th 1903.'

In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The shade is noticeably dirty and discoloured, would benefit from being replaced or cleaned. The fixture is marked 'No 1 HINKS Safety'. Fellows cannot guarantee the working order of any electrical fittings and fixtures. If purchased electrical cables will be cut and removed.
