Lot Description

A mid 20th century diamond and sapphire brooch. Of openwork design, the circular-cut diamond, with calibre-cut sapphire surround, to the vari-cut diamond undulating palmette sides and similarly-cut diamond scrolling border.  One diamond deficient. Principal diamond estimated 0.65ct, H-I colour, VS2-SI1 clarity.  Length 4.3cms. Weight 10.4gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>One diamond deficient.

<li>Slight pitting.

<li>Two loops to one side, may be worn as a pendant.

<li>Diamonds well matched.

<li>Principal diamond with a small fault, chip or natural at the girlde, mostly covered by a claw.


<li>Individual size and setting of most diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Smaller daimonds with mostly small, scattered inclusions.

<li>Sapphires are a medium blue hue. Typical inclusions.<p>

<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
