Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver Bosun whistle, having stippled borders enclosing foliate motifs to the keel and crowned anchors to either end of the barrel. Hallmarks worn but probably George Unite, Birmingham 1845. Length measures 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), gross weight 12 grams.

The whistle displays general wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Surface marks and scratches and a few small dints and bumps. Seam line visible to barrel. Hallmarks rubbed but legible.
