Lot 811

Lot Description

A late 19th century French walnut mantel clock, the 3-inch white-enamelled Roman dial with Breguet hands, the single-train timepiece movement stamped 'BREVETE A PARIS', the pyramidal case with globe surmount over brass Fahrenheit thermometer scale  (lacks bulb), on studwork-applied base, 13", (33cm) high.

Postage: Auction Default

Total lot weight: No

Dial needs a light clean. Movement untouched, may requite overhaul. Case has some fading and blistering to veneer, would benefit from a wax. Some losses to moulding beneath globe, plus minor losses to edge stringing, and a loss to edge of back door (which is scuffed). Thermometer bulb missing as per cataloguing.
