Lot Description

A late Victorian silver mounted Royal Doulton Lambeth match holder, realistically modelled as a boot the black stoneware leads to a banded silver collar, hallmarked Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, Chester 1893, further impressed 'Doulton Lambeth England 9878' to the base of the boot. Height measures 6.7 cm.

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some of the glazing missing to the stoneware base, minor surface crack visible. Hallmarks clear and legible, maker's mark slightly rubbed.
