Lot Description

A late Victorian gold, split pearl and enamel brooch, circa 1880. Of marquise-shape outline, the blue enamel lattice and split pearl curved bar, with similarly-designed kite-shape sides, bead terminals and engraved and spiral surrounds. One split pearl deficient. Length 4.3cms. Weight 14.2gms.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Further, more noticeable discolouration and dirt.

<li>Hook to reverse for surmount/drop.

<li>Glased reverse with faded photograph of a gentleman.

<li>Small nicks and minor abrasion to the enamel.

<li>Split pearls are fairly well matched, varied discolouration, some fine cracks.
