A mid Victorian gold enamel and pearl snake memorial brooch. The blue enamel snake coiled into a figure-of-eight, with split pearls set to its back and circular turquoise cabochons to its eyes, with a further blue enamel drop setting a cultured pearl and to the reverse a small glazed vacant panel. Has been re-enamelled. Length 3.9cms. Weight 10.5gms.

Condition Report
The condition of this lot is fair. The enamel has chipped and has some loss to the back of the snake, next to the split pearls. There is also a significant chip to the outer edge. There is some denting to the reverse and a chip to the glass at the back.
