Lot Description

A Norwegian three piece bachelor tea service comprising teapot, cream jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, each of plain circular form to a footed base, having ribbed rims and foliate capped scroll handles, the teapot with stylised acorn finial to the flat hinged lid. Norwegian assay marks to include 830S alongside maker's mark for J. Tostrup, Oslo. Height of teapot including finial measuring 7 inches (17.8 cm), gross weight 17.43 ozt (542 grams).

Condition Report

The tea set appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general tarnishing, surface wear, marks and scratches. Slight dints to edge of teapot spout and knocks to foot rim so that it is at a slight angle. Heavier staining to interior of teapot. Hinged lid appears in good working order. Small floods of solder visible to undersides of cream and sugar bowl. All assay marks clear and legible.
