Lot Description
A George IV silver mustard pot, of plain circular bulbous form with gadrooned rim, the hinged cover with knob finial and shell thumb-piece leading to a curved handle opening to reveal a blue glass liner, the whole raised upon four splayed florally embossed feet. Hallmarked London 1829, maker's mark T J, possibly Thomas Johnson. Maximum height measures 2 6/8 inches (7 cm), weight exclusive of liner 4.3 ozt (136 grams).

Condition Report
In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor bumps to the body. There is a dent to the top straight edge of the handle inline with the top of the shell thumb-piece. Heavier scratches to the polished interior with a faint seam visible from the foot, also possible solder repair from a faint line visible on the exterior and interior. There is a small minor hole to the raised edge of the hinged cover. Some solder visible beneath the top join of the handle. Hallmarks clear and legible.
