Lot Description

A pair of late Victorian silver mounted candlesticks, each stepped and filled square base rising to a spiral twist stem and vase shape socket having stiff leaf decoration, with foliate bead rim to the removable nozzle and conforming borders to the base. Hallmarked Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1893. Height measuring 5 7/8 inches (15 cm).

Both displaying general tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Minor surface dints and nicks, especially around edges and corners, and small holes in the metal at some of the stepped corners. Some edge knocks to one of the nozzles. Replacement lining to undersides. Some rubbing and a little distortion to hallmarks but still clearly legible, conforming part hallmarks to nozzles.
