A late Victorian gold gem-set brooch. The circular-shape greyish-blue gem collet, within an oval-shape garnet and circular-shape greyish-blue gem double surround, to the raised motif border and lock of hair reverse. AF. Diameter 3.1cms. Weight 9.8gms.

<li>Overall condition poor. Scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Areas of the of the border are worn.<p>
<li>Part of the gem-set surround is bent out of shape.<p>
<li>Clear panel on the reverse of brooch needs repair.<p>
<li>Pin does not close.<p>
<li>Garnets medium redish-purple, fairly well saturated, with good clarity.<p>
<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
