Lot Description

An Edwardian 15ct gold gem-set pendant. The circular-shape amethyst, atop an openwork lattice with alternating demantoid garnet and split pearl halo, on later 18ct gold chain. Chain with import marks for London, 1982. Length of pendant 3.8cms. Length of chain 39cms. Total weight 6.4gms.

This piece displays the colours commonly associated with the Suffragette movement.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches and slight discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.


<li>Few possible replacement gems. One demantoid garnet set at an angle.

<li>Amethyst is a medium deep slightly pinkish purple hue.

<li>Demantoid garnets are a fairly well matched vibrant, yellowish green hue.

<li>Split pearls well matched.

<li>Gems with minor abrasions.

<li>Pendant stamped 15ct to surmount.

<li>Stated length of pendant includes surmount loop. Diameter of gem-set panel 2.9cms.
