Lot Description

A late Victorian silver and gold diamond brooch. The circular-cut diamond, with old-cut diamond scrolling foliate surround. Principal diamond estimated 1ct, H-I colour, SI clarity. Estimated total diamond weight 2.75cts. Length 3.9cms. Weight 5.7gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Replacement fittings, converted from a larger item.

<li>Principal diamond is a very shallow cut with a yellow metal backing to the mount which may be affecting the appearance of the colour.

<li>Diamond graded within the limitations of the mount, grades may differ.

<li>Principal diamond with small chips at the girdle. No obvious inclusions under 10x.

<li>Estimated dimensions of principal diamond 8.2 by 2.5mms.

<li>Diamonds bright and well matched.

<li>Few, small, scattered inclusions.

<li>Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
