An unusual Chinese carved softwood ruyi sceptre. Of waisted paddle or fan form with relief figure of Kwanyin (Guanyin), Goddess of Mercy, her left hand raised in blessing, her right pouring out the contents of a bottle, above a handle carved with coiled dragon, the terminal with a bat , 14", (35.5cm) long.
