Lot Description

An early 19th century oak-cased 30-hour longcase clock. The 12-inch square white dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing calendar crescent within yellow-painted foliate scroll spandrels, the movement countwheel-striking on a bell, the case with swan-neck pediment over turned columns, the crossbanded long trunk door with central star inlay, on plain base, 83.5", (212cm) high.

Dial - minor staining and crazing, flake loss between XI and XII, further flake losses to lower edge.
Marriage of dial and movement - cheeks rebuilt, sits slightly 'off' in hood door frame.
Movement has slender knopped pillars and has been cleaned, appears sound.
Case - veneer losses to hood, loss to urn finial.  Later toggle to trunk door.
Split to base; missing its plinth  and has been later turned into an apron.

Sold with weight and pendulum.
