In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Where the ring handle joins to the top of the base has become split with signs of repair and solder, requires attention. The silver mount on the handle is significantly dented with minor loss of definition to the decoration, the end of the wood has a protruding screw, the hallmarks are rubbed with only partial maker's, town and date marks visible, further mark worn possibly the lion passant. Slight compression from the shell thumb-piece to the dish with remnants of polish visible. Hallmarks rubbed in places but still legible.
