Condition Report
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver case shuts fully flush but is a little stiff to open from the push button. A slight gap visible towards the bottom of the hinge when closed, when open the bottom of the hinge is not attached to the front piece. Heavier areas of tarnish along the edges and around corners with remnants of polish visible. The lined interior is slightly worn with some dirt residue. The maker's mark is overstruck and obscured, the other hallmarks are rubbed and worn but still just legible. The pocket watch is missing its bow and is engraved 'H. SHARLAND Fore St Tiverton' to the interior dust cover, also marked Fine Silver to the interior lid and 67492 to the interior lid, dust cover and movement. Some minor hairline fractures and chips to the enamel around the central stem which holds the hands, possibly from a repair or replacement. The movement is currently functioning, however Fellows cannot guarantee the working order or accuracy of the movement.
