Condition Report
The overall condition of the claret jug appears fairly good, displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches from handling and age. The silver mounts are quite tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some minor dints. Hinged lid appears in good working condition and sits flush. Some rubbing and loss of surface detail to areas of engraved decoration. The lion surmount especially is quite worn. There is a ring at the base of the handle indicating that there was possibly a lower silver band around the glass body. Some light rubbing and distortion to hallmarks and maker' s marks but all still legible. Part hallmarks located to lid reverse.
