Lot Description

An early 20th century 18ct gold mesh bag. The calibre-cut ruby and rose-cut diamond curved lines, to the square-shape ruby kiss clasp. French assay marks. Length 12.3cms. Weight 244.7gms.

<li> Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. <p>

<li> Rubies with fairly dark pinkish or purplish-red reds, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. <p>

<li> Rubies heavily abraded with significant abrasion to the facet edges and surfaces. Two are cracked. <p>

<li> Diamonds well matched. <p>

<li> Diamonds bright. <p>

<li> Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. <p>

<li> Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li> Rubies in poor condition with significant abrasion, chips and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
