Lot Description

A Japanese black lacquered papier mache box by Zohiko Company. Early to mid 20th century, the oblong push-on cover and body decorated in a maki-e with a gilt floral spray, enclosing plain black interior, oval elephant mark beneath, 6.5" x 3.75" x 2" high, (16.5cm x 9.5cm x 5cm).
