Lot Description

A London 1886 hallmarked silver presentation trowel in original hinged fitted case, the blade engraved 'This trowel was presented to Mrs John Russell by the Committee of the 'Gravesend Hospital' on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the wards erected by her as a jubilee gift to the institution, 21st June 1887', upon a faux bamboo carved ivory handle, 12.25" (31cm) long.
