Lot 372

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver trinket box, of heart shaped form with crimped rim borders, the removable cover with an embossed figural scene of a man with flowers and lady at a window amidst trees. Hallmarked Army & Navy Cooperative Society Ltd (Frederick Bradford Macrea), London 1889. Diameter measures 2 4/8 inches (6.7 cm), weight 1.7 ozt (53.1 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The box has a split parallel to the top point of the heart shape which causes the cover to catch. Minor loss of definition to the embossed decoration, heavier tarnishing around edges. Would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks slightly worn but still legible.
