Lot 379

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver scent flask, of circular hinged form with engraved scrolls surrounding a central vacant cartouche, hallmarked Arthur Willmore Pennington, Birmingham probably 1886, height measuring 4.7 cm. Together with a 1920's silver suspension bell, modelled in the form of a bird hatching from an egg, hallmarked Birmingham 1921 and a modern silver mounted chick pincushion. Gross weighable silver 26.3 grams. (3).

Postage: Postable

Total lot weight: No

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The scent flask has minor bumps and loss of definition, the hinged lid opens to reveal an interior sponge, no stopper present. The top of the lid has a suspension loop attached with signs of solder around it. The bird suspension bell still rattles, significant dent to the back. The chick pincushion has a bright red material cushion. Hallmarks rubbed and worn in places, but still just legible.
