Lot Description

A set of twelve late eighteenth century Dutch silver table spoons, in Hanoverian style with a double drop to heel. Dutch assay marks including town mark for Amsterdam, maker's mark HO, probably for Hendrik Overhulsman (working 1790 - 1811), and a date letter, possibly K for 1795. Length measuring 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), weight 21.89 ozt (681 grams).

The spoons appear in fair to good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing and general surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Surface dints and and bumps, mainly visible to the bowls. Also some heavier contact marks and scratches from use. Overall, the bowls have faired quite well. Assay marks are bottom struck and appear quite squashed, but are mostly legible.
