Lot Description

A pair of mid Victorian gold gem-set earrings. Each designed as a seed pearl terminal fringe, suspended from a turquoise, black enamel and split pearl bar, with scrolling spacer and turquoise and black enamel surmount. French assay marks. Length 6.1cms. Weight 11.4gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Green discolouration.

<li>Localised scratches and discolouration to reverse and surmount.

<li>Enamel slightly worn with surface chips in parts.

<li>Turquoise fairly well matched, ranging from a light blue to dark greenish-blue, in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>

<li>Seed pearls untested for natural origin.

<li>Seed pearls are generally a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones, some slightly discoloured.

<li>Seed pearls in good condition with minor abrasions.

<li>Width 2cms.

<li>Hook fittings for pierced ears.
