Lot Description

An Edwardian silver two bottle cruet stand, the openwork frame with two circular compartments holding two cut-glass bottles, the central stem with foliate capped ring handle, the whole raised upon four stylised shell feet. Hallmarked Hukin & Heath (John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton), London 1903. Height measuring 9 1/2 inches (24.3 cm), weight of stand 13.8 ozt (432.1 grams).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The stand wobbles slightly on its feet. Visible solder repairs around the join of the holders to the stem, also some visible to the join of the handle to the stem. Contact marks visible to the top of the base from the bottles. Minor chips and nibbles to the cut-glass bottles, one has a replacement stopper which is not in keeping with the style of the bottle, it also has a significant chip to the end. Hallmarks clear and legible.
