Lot 186

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver caster, of wrythen fluted form with embossed foliate detail, the removable pierced cover with wrythen finial, the whole raised upon a circular stepped base. Hallmarked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1891. Height measuring 7 6/8 inches (19.7 cm), weight 5 ozt (155.5 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. It appears to wobble slightly on its base. Remnants of polish visible in between the decoration, would benefit from a clean. Minor bumps to the top of the stepped base. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still just legible, partial hallmarks to the cover.
